Shell Jewelry Dish

Collected by hand along Jacob Riis Beach in New York, each shell is transformed into a one-of-a-kind miniature work of art. The natural surface of the shell is painted and adorned with an original, hand-drawn illustration inspired by vintage botanical and scientific drawings  - from intricately rendered flowers and foliage to other specimens from the natural world.

Each piece is finished with shellac to protect the artwork and highlight the shell’s natural texture and luminous surface. Because every shell is found rather than manufactured, no two have exactly the same shape, markings, or character.

Collected, painted, drawn, and finished entirely by hand. Each shell is unique.
